Homer is one of the Ten Pirates of Hawkins, and has one piece of the Treasure Map of Hawkins, which is needed in Ultima VI. He gives the Avatar instructions on where the other pieces can be found.
After killing Hawkins, Homer went to Buccaneer's Den, but lost a leg and had to settle down. Years later, the Avatar looked for the Treasure Map. Homer, wanting the Storm Cloak from the treasure, agreed to help, after the Avatar became a member of the Guild of Thieves. He told the name and fate of some of the former pirates, but had no idea the fate of the rest of them.
Homer gave the Avatar the last piece of the map after finding the others, and gave explicit instruction on the treasure location. Homer was pleased, when the Avatar later returned with his Storm Cloak.
