Lord Cantabrigian British came under attack by the gargoyles, angered at the inadvertent theft of the Codex and destruction of their home world through the collapse of the Underworld. Lord British directed the war effort from his castle, and when the Avatar again came to Britannia, he offered the hero shelter and equipment, as well as healing when necessary. Eventually, the hero championed peace between British and Lord Draxinusom of the gargoyles, relocating the codex to the Ethereal Void, and making it accessible to both races.
